The Magic Jar(마법 항아리)

A poor yet diligent farmer dreamed of having his own land.

가난하고 아직까지 성실한 농사꾼이 그의 소유지를 갖기를 꿈꾸고 있었다.

He worked hard and bought part of a rich landowner's land.

그는 열심히 일을 해서 부유한 토지소유주에게 일부분의 토지를 매입했다.

One day, the farmer found a jar inside the soil.

어느날, 흙에 파묻힌 항아리를 발견했다.

He took it home and put his shovel inside.

그는 그것을 집에가져와 삽을 넣어놨다.

The next day, he found two shovels in the jar.

다음날, 그는 항아리에 두 개의 삽이 있다는 것을 발견했다.

"This is magic!"

이건 마술이야.

He put everything he needed into the jar: coins, shovels and farming equipment.

그는 필요한 모든 것을 넣었다 : 동전, 삽, 농사도구.

He was very excited because he had always wanted these things but couldn't afford them.

그는 항상 이런 물건을 원했기 때문에 굉장히 흥분한 상태였다.

Soon, he became rich.

곧, 그는 부자가 되었다.

The villagers, who had ignored him before, treated him well and hoped to become his friend.

전에는 그를 무시했던 마을주민들이 그를 따뜻하게 대했고 그의 친구가 되길 원했다.

The farmer became a very lazy man and stopped working.

그 농사꾼은 아주 게을러지고 일을 그만두었다.

Although he partied all the time, he didn't feel happy.

매일 잔치를 했음에도 그는 행복하지 않았다.

He just longed for more ad more.

그는 그저 더 원했다.

Soon, the rich landowner heard the news.

곧, 그 부유한 토지소유자가 그 소식을 들었다.

"I only sold you my land, not the jar. So, give it back!"

"나는 토지만 주었지, 항아리를 준건 아니야. 그러니까 돌려줘!"

The two men fought and went to the judge.

그 둘은 싸우다가 법정에 갔다.

After seeing the magic, the judge also became greedy.

그 마술을 본 재판장은 또한 탐욕적으로 변했다.

"I'll keep it safe until I make my final judgment."

"나의 마지막 판결이 있기전까지 그 항아리를 안전하게 보관하겠소"

The judge took the magic jar home and put it in his backyard.

그 재판장은 마술 항아리를 집에 가져가 뒤뜰에 놓았다.

He said to himself, "I know I will be happier when my wish comes true."

그는 스스로 말했다. "만약 내 소망이 이루어진다면 행복해질거야."

After he went inside to take a nap, the judge's father saw the jar and wondered what it was.

그가 낮잠을 자러 간사이에, 그의 아버지가 항아리를 보고, 무엇인지 궁금했다.

When he stood up to lean forward, he lost his balance.

그가 일어나 앞으로 몸을 기울이자, 그는 균형을 잃었다.

Thump! There he fell. "Help me!"

쿵! 그가 떨어졌다. "도와줘!"

The judge woke up and pulled his father out.

그 재판장은 일어나서 그의 아버지를 당겼다.

However, he heard another scream.

하지만, 그는 다른 비명을 들었다.

Whenever the judge pulled out one father, another formed inside.

재판장이 아버지 한명을 꺼낼때마다, 또 다른 형태가 안에 있었다.

The judge was burdened with endless fathers to care for.

그 재판장은 끝없는 아버지를 보살피느라 지쳐버렸다.

After that, he came the most honorable judge in the kingdom.

그 후에, 그는 왕국에서 가장 정직한 재판장이 되었다.
