The Foundtain of Youth

(젊음의 분수)

A wise old couple named Young and Ok were childless.

(현명하고 늙은 커플인 용과 옥은 무자식이였다.)

All they did was meet with other old couples to chat.

(그들이 했던 일은 고작 다른 늙은 커플과 만나 수다를 하는것이였다)

Many of them said, "I wish I were still young. That way, I could take better care of my parents." Or "I wish I were young again so that I could enjoy life." 

(거기서 많은 사람들이 "내가 어렸으면 좋겠다. 그러면 부모님을 지극정성 보살필거야". 또는 "내가 다시 어릴때로 간다면 내 삶을 즐길거야"라고 말한다.)

Yong and Ok always wished they were young enough to have children of their own.

(용과 옥은 항상 그들의 아이를 가질 수 있을 정도로 어렸을때로 돌아가길 원했다.)

Every morning, Yong went up to mountain to gather firewood. 

(매일 아침마다 용은 장작을 얻기위해 산에 올랐다)

He knew his way around the mountain better than anyone

.(그는 산에 대해 누구보다 잘 알았다.)

One morning, Yong went to the mountain as usual and found a fountain.

(어느날, 용은 늘 그렇듯 산에 갔고, 분수를 찾았다).

He took a little drink and headed home

(그는 조금 마시고 집으로 향했다.)

When he got home, his wife stared at him in shock.

(그가 집에 도착하자, 그의 와이프가 충격적인 표정으로 그를 응시했다.)

Yong looked at himself in the mirror.

(용은 거울을 통해 그를 바라보았다.)

He had become a young man!

(그는 젊어졌다)

Yong took his wife to the fountain

.(용은 와이프를 분수에 데려갔다.)

Ok took as sip of the water and turned into a beautiful young woman.

(옥은 물을 한모금 마시더니 아름답고 젊은 여성으로 바뀌었다.)

Rejoicing, they sold everything they had and used the money to do everything they had always longed to do.

(기쁘게도, 그들은 그들이 가진 모든것을 팔고, 그돈으로 그들이 항상 하고싶었던 것을 했다.)

Sadly, they soon became broke.

(안타깝게도, 그들은 파산했다.)

Yong had to work for a selfish old neighbor to make money

(용은 돈을 벌기위해 이기적이고 늙은 이웃을 위해 일을 해야했다)

The selfish old man made Yong work long hard hours in the fields.

(그 이기적이고 늙은 남자는 용에게 들판에서 힘들고 오랫동안 일을 시켰다.)

Soon, he saw Yong's endless strength grew jealous.

(곧, 그는 용의 끝없는 힘에 질투를 했다.)

When he heard about the fountain of youth, he ordered Yong to take him there, saying "Youth is the best time of life"

 (그가 젊음의 분수에 대해 듣자, 그는 용에게 그곳에 데려가 달라고 했다. 그리고 "젊음은 인생 최고의 시기이다."라고 말했다.)

As soon as the old man saw it, he jumped into the water bathed in it and gulped it down.

(그가 분수를 보자마자, 물에 뛰어들어 흠벅 적시고, 물을 꿀꺽 삼켰다.)

Believe it or not, the old man grew so young that he became a baby.

(믿거나 말거나, 그 늙은 남자는 너무 어려져서 애기로 변해버렸다)

Young scooped up the baby in his arms and raised him as his son.

(용은 그 아기를 들어올려 팔에 차고 그를 자신의 아들처럼 키웠다.)
